Intensity: Category 2, sustained winds near the centre of 100 kilometres per hour with wind gusts to 140 kilometres per hour.
Location: within 20 kilometres of 27.8 degrees South 154.2 degrees East, estimated to be 120 kilometres east southeast of Brisbane and 85 kilometres east northeast of Gold Coast.
Movement: west southwest at 8 kilometres per hour.
Tropical Cyclone Alfred, category 2, will continue to move slowly towards the southeast Queensland coast.
Alfred is most likely to cross over the Moreton Bay Islands Saturday morning before crossing the mainland coast, most likely between Noosa and Beenleigh later during Saturday.

【澳大利亚布里斯班黄金海岸50年来首迎飓风】财联社3月7日电，名为“阿尔弗雷德”（Alfred）的热带风暴预计将于当地时间3月7日晚或8日早上在布里斯班附近以2级飓风（相当于强台风）规模登陆。澳大利亚气象局称，这对昆士兰州首府布里斯班来说是一次“非常罕见的事件”该地上一次遭受飓风袭击还是在1974年。
