It’s been a long while since that traumatic experience with one of Yamaha’s renowned ‘vocadroid’ productions. Once Kaito’s empty shell had been shipped off to the country of its original creation, Japan, it had been noted that Kaito had been reprogrammed so many times that it had interfered with his AI and sense of rationality.
Along with that, it turns out that it was also their fault for the misuse of certain micro‐chips, which had altered Kaito’s behavior upon ‘re‐set’, and when you sent him to be reprogrammed some time ago, it made his pattern of thoughts a lot worse! What’s better? Those micro‐chips were found in almost every vocadroid, so after Kaito’s examination, all vocadroids had been recalled to the organization for thorough inspection.
Well! You could have sued them, but the corporation had offered you finances in compensation for all the trouble, so in the end‐ you got good money, which was enough to replace the school’s Kagamine Twins ﴾they won’t let you keep them this time though﴿, and just enough to find your sister a new pet…

No… Definitely not your cup of tea, however, you did feel terrible for Kaito and his experiences as an unwanted android had honestly touched you. Thinking about it, it wasn’t entirely Kaito’s fault but the corporation’s and certainly… it was your fault too. The fact that he had destroyed himself to please you in the end had definitely proved one thing…
He did deserve happiness after all…

Sitting nervously across your laptop, you shook your toes as it restarted. This is supposed to work, right?
As soon as it had revived, you logged in before installing a program that had been provided only for you. You typed in whatever the booklet had instructed and had done everything in the p.r.e.c.i.s.e order, now awaiting a positive response as your computer had loaded in a few extracted files.

You began counting down along with your P.c, anticipating the completetion of the loaded files until finally‐ 99% …

Once all that was over, you began to smile, only to widen your eyes at the fact that your computer had automatically restarted itself… Was it even supposed to do that?!
Fearing the worst, you quickly logged in, hoping that the application didn’t alter the functions of your laptop in just the slightest bit. Immediately clicking on the new file, you waited for it to load again, and once it was completed, you were thrown back to your desktop screen…
It did completely nothing!

“I can hear you quite well, masuta. However, I am confused… Why? Why am I here? And these?‐“ he began poking on one of the desktop icons, and you were amazed at the graphics and the fact that he can interact with your computer… Well duh!
Kaito is your computer‐ a second functioning Operating system actually.
Before he could be shipped to Japan, a member of the group had recalled you saying that you wish you could have somehow managed to keep Kaito.
Considering all the troubles you have been through, along with the compensation for Kaito’s replacement（AND the fact that they wanted you to keep your mouth shut about the whole incident）‐ you were given a custom made Operating system, only this one was centered around your Kaito’s personality. Basically, they’ve backed up Kaito’s software and made in into an os.
It’s basically Kaito, without his physical aspects and it was pretty much convenient for you! This way, he won’t be able to hurt anyone if he should go berserk again, and Kaito can finally see you again.

“Hai, I understand masuta! You’ve made me so happy! I am happy, that you are finally mine”
You smiled at such cute words, continuously poking his little tummy through the screen, and he began to chuckle. That happy‐go‐luck Kaito! Returning his joy, you began to remember something, your students will be taking exams in the next two days and you haven’t prepared their papers!
“‐The hell! I’m an idiot!” you began to fret, which had alarmed Kaito.
“M‐masuta? Is something the matter?”
“I have exam papers to prepare! Kaito, could you please click on that icon thing over there! I need to get started!” you tapped your fingers together, soon moving around the room to collect a few books for question references, noting that they will be tested on almost everything, you knew you have a lot of work to do, but again, spending a lot of time on your computer meant spending a lot of time with Kaito, and considering just that‐ you didn’t mind at all.
“Hai, as requested, masuta!”
Your new os began to voice, doing as requested before stopping to lean against the screen, watching you frantically move about the place, quite happy actually. He now finally has a home and a master, and though he didn’t have a physically body, this Kaito didn’t mind at all. As long as you are with him‐ a loving master by his side, as he had long wished…

那么，终于更完了，来写几句感言。感谢大家喜欢这部小说，老实说有人看我的翻译是很高兴的
虽然我的翻译不怎么好也没多少人看……
能够在去年认识大哥是一件很幸福的事，能在短短的半个月陷入成为青废是一生中都不会忘记的回忆……虽然回国之后立马要去找工作然后各种开始人生的旅程，会使我接触大哥的时间越来越少，接下来《始音》的翻译也不知道有没有时间做……
阅读这部同人小说的时候，是我真正去理解大哥的时候，去感受他这个失败品不被需要的痛，他的苦。我非常佩服这位作者的描写能力，与对大哥的了解 — — 不管变成什么样，大哥就是宁愿自*尽*，也要成全 Master！
对了，这里说一下，这部小说的背景应该是美国，从作者的各方面用词来看，大部分是美语，例如 “Well Duh!”。主角 Master 为某学校的女音乐教师（这点很明显吧），喜欢的Vocaloid 是镜音连，应该也喜欢初音（桌面壁纸），本质上还算是心软善良的。我想她唯一比较不被大家认同的地方，应该是没把 Kaito 这个机械人当人看进而做出伤害他的事。
怎么说呢？就好像今天我去参观机械展览会，在我的眼中那些机械人（虽然大多不是人体构造）只是一种被人类创造的物体，没有感情没有任何需要，只会依照你输入的数据指令行动、工作。我想如果有一天这些东西突然有了如人类那般的情感，我也会惊吓然后为了否认“机械有人类的情感”这点，做出一些事来证明自己是对的。当然，如果那个物体是你喜爱的，你当然会喜欢它是“活着“了，就如文中 Master 对连的态度。
再说，人类对自身无法控制与预知的东西是惊恐并拒绝的，如果文中的 Kaito 一开始没有杀了 Bentley（这才是正确的名字），没有违逆 Master 的指令，或许接下来的一切不会这么痛苦。文中的 Master 对于Kaito惊恐的反应作者确实写得合情合理，因为Master只是一个普通人，当然会害怕比她高大，不听她指令的安卓，甚至会杀狗的安卓！甚至会想，下次会不会连人都杀了？！
当然，我不是替 Master 辩护。文中的 Kaito 可谓身世坎坷，如果他是一只狗（只是比喻！），一生只认一个主人，可他的主人换了一个又一个，每一个主人都嫌弃他，将他随意抛弃，然他渴望的只是被人需要，被人爱，只求能一心一意侍奉一个主人，有一个温暖的家。他等了又等，终于有一个，或许是第一个，如此善待他的人类，所以他认为这位带给他幸福的人是属于他的，不愿放手了。第一次和她的相遇，第一次唱歌给她听，第一次接受软件的升级……那短短的两个月，或许是他有史以来的好日子了。
每一次被抛弃的前兆都是从冷漠忽视，或者出现新欢开始，所以他以前车之鉴，断定这次他的幸福要被狗，其他的安卓，甚至 Master 抢走……由于害怕历史重演，加上自身判断系统已被之前的主人搞砸了，已经分辨不了是对是错，结果走上极端不归路。
不过，我认为 Master 对他的欺骗和丢弃是最大的伤害。我记得某位同是写Kaito英语同人小说的作者说过：“要把他弄成一只病娇很简单 —— 给他的人生来几段惨痛的经历或者伤害将他虐至精神崩溃为止。” 所以，在我的观点来说 Uninstall 的悲剧绝对是人为的。
所幸结局还算令人满意，也给了读者预想未来的空间：或许未来的科技还不能让我们直接与实体的 Kaito 相处，但是每天一开电脑，就能见到开开心心的他也是一件幸福的事，真是令人向往啊~ 但愿喜欢 Kaito 的青废，能够继续喜欢他直到过完这一生，也希望能在我活着的年岁里，亲眼看到幸福快乐活着的 Kaito

虽然我的翻译不怎么好也没多少人看……能够在去年认识大哥是一件很幸福的事，能在短短的半个月陷入成为青废是一生中都不会忘记的回忆……虽然回国之后立马要去找工作然后各种开始人生的旅程，会使我接触大哥的时间越来越少，接下来《始音》的翻译也不知道有没有时间做……
阅读这部同人小说的时候，是我真正去理解大哥的时候，去感受他这个失败品不被需要的痛，他的苦。我非常佩服这位作者的描写能力，与对大哥的了解 — — 不管变成什么样，大哥就是宁愿自*尽*，也要成全 Master！
对了，这里说一下，这部小说的背景应该是美国，从作者的各方面用词来看，大部分是美语，例如 “Well Duh!”。主角 Master 为某学校的女音乐教师（这点很明显吧），喜欢的Vocaloid 是镜音连，应该也喜欢初音（桌面壁纸），本质上还算是心软善良的。我想她唯一比较不被大家认同的地方，应该是没把 Kaito 这个机械人当人看进而做出伤害他的事。
怎么说呢？就好像今天我去参观机械展览会，在我的眼中那些机械人（虽然大多不是人体构造）只是一种被人类创造的物体，没有感情没有任何需要，只会依照你输入的数据指令行动、工作。我想如果有一天这些东西突然有了如人类那般的情感，我也会惊吓然后为了否认“机械有人类的情感”这点，做出一些事来证明自己是对的。当然，如果那个物体是你喜爱的，你当然会喜欢它是“活着“了，就如文中 Master 对连的态度。
再说，人类对自身无法控制与预知的东西是惊恐并拒绝的，如果文中的 Kaito 一开始没有杀了 Bentley（这才是正确的名字），没有违逆 Master 的指令，或许接下来的一切不会这么痛苦。文中的 Master 对于Kaito惊恐的反应作者确实写得合情合理，因为Master只是一个普通人，当然会害怕比她高大，不听她指令的安卓，甚至会杀狗的安卓！甚至会想，下次会不会连人都杀了？！
