Leslie's gone (again), but we stillneed him for this and that. Obviously wecan't do dialogue or close-ups, and sowe cast for the back of his head. Allsorts and sizes of contenders come to the office, some so brave theirdetermination could bend a fork. One ofthem is asking, 'you don't want me to sing or dance?' An assistant replies,'No, it's posture that counts,' dismissing him with a Polaroid snap, atelephone number and the classic, gruff, 'We'll let you know.'

I'm faint. My feet seem to roll under my weight. I totter and stagger, top-heavy with astifling cold. Illness, tiredness andgoing to the toilet are rarely accounted for in scripts, and so there's no oneand no time to feel sorry for me. But Ido feel apologetic and remorseful that my work tonight will be less smooth andinterpretive than I expect it to be.
我头晕。我的脚似乎在我的体重下滚动。我蹒跚和踉跄，令人窒息的感冒让我感到头重。在剧本中基本不会考虑生病，疲倦和上厕所，所以没有任何人也没有任何时间来可怜我。但我真的觉得抱歉和懊悔，因为今晚我的工作会比我期望的要少了些顺畅和诠释。
