Having lived in China and seen the desperate lengths they will go to in order to be perceived (by themselves anyway) as the 'best nation on earth', I have absolutely no doubt that there will have been some extra ingredient apart from hard work that went into the winner's performance.....it would be interesting to be able to check up on Chinese athletes a few years after they win big events, but they seem to disappear from the face of the earth!

我在中国生活过，可以感受到他们是如何疯狂地自视为“世界上最好国家”的（反正就他们自己这么认为）。因此，我百分百的相信他们为了获得冠军，除了进行艰苦训练外，肯定还会使用其他手段。要是有人能在这些中国健儿获得重大赛事的若干年后对他们再进行一些检查的话，结果将会很有意思，不过他们似乎都无一例外的人间蒸发了。。。

I agree, I don't think the Chinese have what it takes physically to compete against Europeans in sports that require speed and power, they a more sorted to finesse and technique e.g. gymnastics, badminton etc. Definitely something dodgy going on here. - Jonathan, UK, 28/7/2012 23:54
我很认同，我觉得中国人不具备在讲究速度和力量的比赛中与欧洲人媲美的体质，他们更适合在一些讲究技巧和灵敏度的比赛（体操、羽毛球等）中获胜。这里面绝对有猫腻

If you actually followed swimming and was semi-aware of the sport then you would know Shiwen is at a completely different level than everyone else. Even 2 years back. 如果你们真心看过那场比赛，并且对体育有那么一丝了解的话，就会发现诗文和其他人完全不是一个等级的。即使在两年前也是这样。所以，千万别怀疑她服用了兴奋剂，因为她是最强的，所以她赢了。当然我也支持麦莉，不过诗文的金牌实至名归，她表现很棒
