only to expound upon it further ? I`m quite conservative with no
intention to move any further, especially in front of a pretty girl.
About the philosophy issue,I have not realized my words would go that deep.

回复:16楼 We can argue about the proper definition of words all day long, something that we may want to avoid in our discussion, for the sake of our own sanity. By asking people to challenge me on this post, I was merely very curious to what kinds of responses I would invoke.

We could argue all day about a word's proper definition. If you'd like, we could employ webster's definition of "meaning". But in debates I try to shy away from falling intro the trap of everlasting discussion on what a word means, for the good of my own sanity.
I started post because I was curious as to what kind of responses I would invoke for people in this forum. That's all.

For some reason baidu put in my reponses twice. You could just look at 19楼 in reference to your next response. If you respond, that is.

Hi, I won't say life is meaningless. Form the biology persipective, life is a characteristic that distinguishes objects that have signaling and self-sustaining processes from those that do not, either because such functions have ceased, or else because they lack such functions and are classified as inanimate.Iwould say life does have meaning because it is a process or a cycle which nature has given a purpose. In other words, life itself is meaningfull because every living species, not the dead ones, are functioning with prupose. Form the most basic instinction of living to the emotional feelings, these are all the traits or charateristics which set the meaninfull lives apart from the so called" meaningless" lives, or the inanimate from of live.
Besides, it depends on how you define "we",'Life',and "meaning". There are numerous explaination and defiinations about these terms from encyclopedias, dictionaries (Webster maybe) or religious classics.
However, no matter how we define these terms, the fact is if life is meaningless we would not discuss this here. From your question, Life has already made us think, reflect and doubt. It is generally agreeed that thinking allows beings to model the world and to represent it according to their objectives, plans, ends and desires. Thus. by the time we quetion whether life is meaningfull or not, it inevitably proves that " we are here for a purpose"--which means not for nothing.
I had encounterd this topic before during the debate training. Hmm, last time we concluded that life is nothing, we are here for an ending.
                    不好意思英文不好。。。。欢迎拍砖~~
