Then the rain came again but our lovely guy stayed to sign for several people as he was getting pelted. It was a short but heavy cloudburst and as we left we saw this and are taking it as a good omen.
Hopefully that is it for rain and it will be sunny skies for Rafa and his fans ahead

This pic from nidssserz, posted in Montreal pics by woody shows the stands at Court 9 which overlook Court 10 where Rafa was practicing today. If you look to the right of Maymo's head you see anacanada standing on the bleachers in her aqua jacket. Beside her was a tennis fan who was chatting with her. When I showed up he kindly let me squeeze into his space so I could enjoy the practice. It was still a tiny space - I was crouching on one knee for a while and I think ana was standing one one leg for a long time but you do what you have to do to see the Rafa.

Lovely weather today in Montreal, lovely Rafa gave us 2 hours of close-up practice, and lovely anacanada and Johanne for companions. What more could a girl want? Well, okay, I want holina here too and, what the heck, I want all of you here
I started the morning with seeing Rafa arrive and having him sign another Spanish flag for me I let my previous flag (signed in Miami) fall off my lap at RG during the rain delay and eventual match cancellation, and when I returned to the stadium before going home, someone had taken it So I wanted a new one for all those matches I will be cheering in front of my computer for the rest of the year! I tell you, I wish I could start every morning seeing Rafa within arms length

This was followed by a spot on the fence for Rafa practice for all of us and he practiced on the near court He had no tape on his palm today , ran down many balls , and played pretty intensely in the middle of the sets with Wawa I actually took a video during practice today which turned out pretty well - wonders never cease- and I will upload it tonight and post it tomorrow. (grunting included ) For those of you Andy fans, he is in the background practicing so it's a 2 for 1 video.

The female security guard was helping with the balls today and was rewarded with the best Rafa smile of the day Well, this wasn't the best one but he did smile at her a few times.

We are not sure who the young boy is but he seems to belong to Roig. We saw them later in the day strolling the grounds hand in hand. (I thought Roig's son was blonde 我们不太确定那个小男孩是谁，但是看起来是Roig家的。晚些时候我们看到他们手拉手在场上散步（我本以为Roig家儿子是金发的）。

Did notice this set up with Andy's shoes at one point during the practice. Target practice I guess - sorry did not actually watch to see what the drill was.

Rafa did not use his 3:00 scheduled practice time so we headed to the doubles match. The 7 syllable team lost to the 3 syllable team but Fognini seemed to be in a good mood throughout - maybe he should play with Dolgo more often There were a lot of great rallies and pretty good sportsmanship, although I did see Haas give Fabio the finger after an intense rally around the net - they seemed to be smiling after though so I guess it was just a 'you rotter' gesture.

mali - Murray practiced with this Dani guy for the first hour (we didn`t know who he was) and then Berdych for the next hour or more, they were still at it when Rafa and Stan (and we) left.

No shirt changes but our theory was that in his rush, Rafa had forgotten to pack any.
I thought Rafa was very encouraging of Pablo throughout the match, they had some epic 'planning' sessions at the baseline - using my continuous shooting mode I noticed that one of these lasted 12 pics! But Rafa smiled a lot and shrugged when things didn't go well. Rafa is really a stunning doubles player, he is so quick and focused and Pablo had some nice moments. Feli and David played very well but no spark.
