Legal history
Antero Ikäheimo set up Lappset as a sole trader in 1970. In 1975 they changed the company form to the limited liability company. As a limited liability company Lappset Group is subject to Finnish Companies Act which regulates the company’s operations. Nowadays Lappset has several daughter companies and it is Lappset Group limited.
The group includes the following companies:
Piha-Mäntyranta Oy, Pello, Finland, Orambo Oy, Rovaniemi, Finland, Lappset Spiel-, Park- und Freizeitsysteme GmbH, Viersen, Germany, Lappset UK Ltd, Kettering, England, Nifo- Lappset AB, Enköping, Sweden, Lappset Play SRL, Milan, Italy and Lappset España VR SL, Barcelona,Spain.

Board of Directors in short-
Owners choose board of directors. Usually owner/owners are in board as well. Some companies’ invites experts or specialist in board to have their experience, knowledge and connections in business .Publicity of member can be used as marketing purpose too. For instance if you have well known and succeed members in company’s board of directors, it can be much easier to sell shares, get credit from institutions such as banks etc. Even the company’s picture can easily chance same time with a member.
Board of Directors representative a shareholder and take care of money that is invested to the company. Shareholders only liability is compensation for loss suffered.

Corporate governance
In the narrowest sense corporate governance means the work of a company's Board of Directors, or the activities and supervision of the executives of a company in a somewhat more general sense. In the broad sense, corporate governance refers to all the procedures and instruments that the owners of a company or other interested parties use to influence the activities of the company's management and decision-making. The parties to corporate governance in the narrow sense are the company management (CEO, Board of Directors, and possible Board of Governors) and the owners. The parties to corporate governance in the broad sense are the various stakeholders of the company and their representative’s financiers, employees, the municipalities where the company is domiciled or home states, etc.
