二战结束时美军1200万，其中海军300万，陆航287万，其余600多万属于苏德概念上的陆军。
但600多万人的美国陆军，作战师只有89个，步兵师满编1.4万人，装甲师满编1.1万
一些吧友的言论，看似正确 其实有一些误区

在二战结束以后 1200万美军中 抛去海军 海军陆战队 陆军航空兵
剩下5 6百万都是陆军作战部队和辅助部队，变成89或91个师（2中说法） 平均每个师达到6万人，于是得出美国陆军作战部队非常臃肿，看似正确 其实这是个误区。

大量陆军 军事人员不可能在一线部队服役，而是在国内驻守 比如预备役 训练部队 文职 机关院校等
还比如某国的文工团 篮球队 更是不可能编制到陆军野战军里

美军是平均2.8万人一个师 因为美军在45.2以后伤亡不大 补充的很到位 按满员算
看似美军比德军臃肿一些 其实不然。

美军陆军有大量独立作战和辅助部队，虽然德军和毛子也有 但是数量无法相提并论

为啥美国陆军自己都不洗，要劳烦不相干的外国人替其洗？？

美军陆军野战部队 分4大类
地面作战部队 陆航 辅助部队 其他（主要是伤病和补充兵）
我们通常抛去陆航的人数
而在本土有大量训练人员 预备役 机关院校 文职等陆军人员，这些人压根就不是野战部队的人，而一些人总是把这些人算到野战部队的头上

战争打的就是后勤，谁后勤强，谁就能获得最终胜利。

二战时候的美国陆军由三个独立单元构成：美国陆军地面部队，美国陆军航空部队，美国陆军服务部队。各单元再细分为兵种、兵科。陆军航空部队司令官阿诺德与陆军参谋长马歇尔共同出席参谋长联席会议，陆军参谋长只是陆军地面部队和陆军服务部队的代理，不插手陆军航空部队事务。陆军航空部队有自己的参谋部，已脱离了总参谋部。

1942年战争部与陆军重组行政命令实施后，美国陆军分为三个相对独立单元：陆军地面部队，陆军航空部队，陆军供应兵种群（1943年改名为陆军服务部队）。地面兵种，包括传统的步兵、骑兵、野战炮兵、海岸炮兵，以及新建的装甲兵、空降兵、防空兵、坦克歼击兵等全部由陆军地面部队接管。陆军航空兵撤销，被陆军航空部队取代。陆军航空部队单独设航空参谋部，脱离总参谋部。陆军航空部队司令官一开始就定为上将岗位，陆军地面部队司令官直到1945年史迪威上任才从中将升级到上将，陆军服务部队司令官一直是中将岗位。参谋长联席会议陆军占两席，陆军参谋长代表陆军地面部队和陆军服务部队，陆军航空部队司令官代表陆军航空部队。
