    One of Steel Division: Normandy 44‘s key features is thebrand new Dynamic Front Line. This innovative feedback tool,displayed for the duration of the battle, evolves with each of youractions, surging forward as you succeed or invading your part of thebattlefield when your units are broken. It reflects the power struggle betweenthe two sides, objectively measuring the ground controled during the game. TheDynamic Front Line accentuates the feeling that you are taking part in arealistic WW2 warfare.

    Since late 2015 we’ve had the idea tocreate a dynamic, innovative gameplay mechanic which would evoke traditionalbattle briefings and also slightly break off with the static side of Wargame.We wanted to make something unique that merges fluidity, reactivity and realismand that you could understand in real-time just at a glance without being toointrusive. “The Dynamic Front Line was a technical and design challenge thatwas a pleasure to take on.” according to Karim Kadar, LeadGameplay/AI developer, “I can’t wait to see it in the players’ hands!” It was amassive amount of work to find the right tool and the right balance, but it wasdefinitely worth it. The Dynamic Front Line as it appears today gives the gameall its flavour and opens up multiple gameplay possibilities.

      Watch the balance of powershifting in real time
      观察地图控制权的实时变化
      As the battle unfolds, the front line visually evolvesaccording to the players’ actions. Its motions draw a unique scenario with eachnew game and shape the balance of power. Your objective, as players, willalways be to expand your control over more ground: the front line demarcatingthe part of the map controlled by the enemy and one under your controlwill allow you to visualize your progression (or the enemy’s) in a glance.
      Each unit counts and most of them can impact thefront line. When your units are advancing and securing more ground, the frontline evolves accordingly in real time. In the same way, the front line will bepushed back your way if the enemy regains the upper hand. The front lineunderlines the “hot spots” where the fightings rage and where you have todirect reinforcements in order to plug a gap or repel an enemy breakthrough.
      玩家的目标是在战斗过程中使用单位扩大自己的控制范围,这会直观地显示在动态战线上,大部分单位都能影响战线的变化(接下段)

      Butbeware: some units may approach, and even cross, the front line withoutimpacting it, and therefore without revealing themselves to the enemy.This adds a real depth to the mechanic. With anti-tank infantry teams such asbazooka or Panzerschreck or recons squads, you have the opportunity toplay sneaky. Of course, air units couldn’t care lass about whom owns the groundbelow (but for AA fire!) hence don’t affect the front lineeither. Paratroopers, on the other hand, can fight behind enemy lines withoutpenalties, unlike regular troops.
      Inthe end, one courageous group of soldiers can make the difference.
      但是有一些特殊的单位可以做到靠近甚至跨越战线而不会使战线变动,这样就能在战略上隐藏自身的行踪,这样的单位通常是步兵。而空中单位无法直接控制地面所以不能直接推进战线,而伞兵拥有在敌占区作战而不受惩罚的能力(其他普通单位就会有惩罚),所以一个单刀直入的秘密步兵小队可能会造成一些意想不到的好效果(大概是说偷防空啊偷火炮啊之类的)

        Tactics over twitch
        策略的变动
        Thefront line is also a tactical instrument that facilitates the understanding ofthe battlefield as a whole. This feature is what enables you to take a stepback and have a global view which helps you make the best decisions.
        Everypart of the map has its importance now. You must choose what deserves yourattention. You must consider the most effective strategy at any given time,even if you have to deviate from your initial plan, as losses grow oropportunities come to pass. Ingame events shape the front line in an alwaysunique way. Is it better to hold your position or attempt a breakthrough? Doyou have to abandon the “hedgerow hell” for some safer urban areas? Does atanks column forces you to withdraw?
        Itsimplifies the action without making it simplistic. Indeed, if one playerpushes in one direction, it is impossible to tell the strength nor the numberof troops he’s bringing forward just by looking at the map. The opponent has tosee them through his units’ eyes. And in the hand of a sneaky player, the frontline can be a very good tool to misinform his opponent …
        玩家要通过观察动态展现来思考全局形势,并做出相应的决策,地图的各部分都很重要,要学会放弃和选择,能看到战线的变动并不代表能看到正在推动战线的敌方单位,仍然需要用视野来侦察敌军的具体兵种和数量,因此除了不改变战线的秘密单位,战线的变化也可以用来欺骗对手(看不到具体的敌人的话就有被误导的可能)
        (某种程度上这个动态线挺魔法的,毕竟能在战争迷雾下变化,但PVP的话确实是一种很有趣的心理震慑,法爹热衷于提高人类互相伤害的水平和深度hhhh)

          Trapyour enemy
          困住敌军(使之投降)
          In Steel Division: Normandy 44,you don’t need to always kill your enemy to the last man, but with the goodmove, you can make them surrender.
          Mostof the units outside the player’s influence area are in great danger. Theysuffer a stress penalty, and lose influence – visualized by a decreasing circlearound them. Again, some special units don’t suffer from this penalty, likeparatroopers, leaders or recons.
          Worstcase scenario, your unit will surrender immediately if these conditions are met:
          ·The suppression gauge (in red) is full
          ·An enemy is nearby (100m)
          ·There is no ally (without stress) in the same radius (100m) and no leader unit who can come to support within 200m (this number may change in the future)
          Leaderunits support suppressed units and improve their stats inside their area ofeffect, avoiding therefore the frontline to crumble. Like in real combat, youalways want them to have your back. Leaders aren’t all-powerful though and theycan surrender as well if they get stressed.
          其实玩家不需要杀死敌人所有的有生力量,也可以迫使他们投降,一般来说在玩家控制范围外的单位(就是在敌人控制区的)士气会一直减少,当然像伞兵、指挥、侦察这样的特别单位就不会受到惩罚
          具体来说如果同时满足以下条件你的部队就会缴械投降了:
          ·压力表被充满(红色时)
          ·敌人在附近(100米内)
          ·在100米内也没有冷静的友军
          ·在200米内没有指挥单位,无法受到指挥的监督(距离可能会改动)
          以上就是现在设定的投降条件,指挥单位能避免指挥范围内的下级单位投降,但是指挥本身受到过多火力压制也可能会投降
          (实机演示中,投降的单位位置上面会出现白旗图标,并且直接提示被俘减员,然而前次提到的俘虏载具并没有出现,或许next week的直播会出现这个机制的演示)

            如何做一个出色的战略家
            Youmay need to secure your positions before pushing elsewhere: you don’t want tofight for the same place again and again because you were not careful enough.
            Assimple as it may seem, don’t forget to regularly zoom out to really see how thematch is unfolding and to spot decisive confrontations.
            Withsome experience, you’ll be an expert in reading the front line’s curves. Eachbend is well-thought and gives you some information about the forces involved.The more distant the front line is from your unit, the more distant the enemyunit is from its side, more or less. But don’t always trust everything you seeas more enemy units can be nearby, hidden or in support.
            Salientsare therefore valuable information to decipher in order to lead your troops.This kind of situation is perfect to reach a breakthrough but also comes withits share of risks. If your units get bypassed and trapped in a pocket, theywill be more likely to get killed or captured. And breaking out in thesecircumstances is not the easiest thing to do.


            你应该通过不断地观察大局战线和具体战斗的情况来理智地进行指挥,但也不要以为你能看到的就是战场上的一切,学会分析能看到的信息,分析战术可能的风险和收益才是成为一个优秀指挥官应具备的素养
