Well, it’s the opposite. According to an interview with Fabregas on Feb 9, Nesta is his favorite Italian player:

Fabregas was then asked which five Italian players in order he believed to be the best. 

“Nesta, Pirlo, Gattuso, Buffon, Totti,” replied the 20-year-old.
