DONATO: ‘RONALDO’S A BORN FIGHTER’15/02-2008
Donato, the Brazilian-born defender who made 12 appearances for his adopted Spain, joined the chorus of support for Ronaldo on Thursday.
Speaking exclusively to Fobazo, the former Deportivo La Coruna and Atletico Madrid star said: “It’s just so sad to see him get badly injured again. He’s worked his way back to form and fitness and now this happens.
"I’m backing him, though," said the 45-year old. "I know how they work in Brazil and I’m sure he’ll make a full recovery.”
The evergreen Donato, who played into his forties for his beloved Depor, has no doubts about Ronaldo’s determination to overcome this latest hurdle in his career.
“He’s a born fighter and he’ll make whatever sacrifices he has to. He’s come back from serious injury before and he’ll do it again. As far as I’m concerned he’s still got many years of top-class football ahead of him.”
