很简单，一句话概括，D喂E喝血，带着非常强的性暗示。这一幕给我的震撼比S3ep19里DE在旅馆的亲热戏还要强，让我有一种心脏病发作的感觉。首先我要说，第三季里始祖老爹Mikhael的生存方式喝吸血鬼的血，为本集D喂E喝血做了铺垫，它告诉我们，吸血鬼喝吸血鬼的血是可能的。
我小的时候，家里养了一种牡丹鹦鹉，很可爱。这种鹦鹉在繁殖期，雌鸟是不出窝的，专心抚育小鸟，这个时候雄鸟就吃很多，小米、麻籽之类的，吃完之后把半消化的食物从嘴里吐出来喂给雌鸟，雌鸟再把两次半消化的食物吐出来喂给小鸟，因为小鸟的胃太脆弱。这是动物界家人之间的亲密。
本集中E尝试了四种不同的血：动物血（也就是那只小鹿）、吸血鬼半消化的带着体温的血（D的血）、血袋中不新鲜的人血、直接从人的颈项中流过的动脉血（Matt的血），前三种喝了就吐。D的解释是可能由于她是二重身的缘故，比较抗拒转化，因此她别无选择，她的转化之路注定要比C艰难的多。

下面我们来赏析一下S4ep01里 DE就这删除的两段记忆对质的对话，为什么叫赏析呢，因为我太佩服给D写台词的编剧了。这场戏的台词写得非常棒，分别回指了S2ep20，S2ep21，S3ep22，S2ep08，我还是要把英文录在这里，方便对照之前的剧集。
E: You were going to kill him.
D: Yep, the guy just won’t die.
E: It was my choice to save him, why aren’t you seeing that?
D: It was so hard to keep track of all your choices lately, Elena.
E: I remember everything. One of highlights of my transition, remembering everything that you compelled me to forget, like how you and I met first, you are a stranger that told me you wanted me to get everything I wanted from life. Damon, why didn’t you tell me?
D: Would have It made it difference?
E: (silence)
D: I didn’t think so.
E: You asked me to make a choice, so I did it,
if you’re going to be mad, take it out on me, not on Stefan, on Matt or anyone
else, me.
D: Are we done here?
E: If it had been you at the bridge last night, and not Stefan, and I begged you to save Matt
D: I would’ve saved you, in a heartbeat, no question
E: So as I thought, and Matt would be dead, because you couldn’t let go. Matt would be dead.
D:But you wouldn’t be. You would've gotten to grow up and had the life that you
wanted, the life that you deserved. And I know I didn’t used to get that but I do now, and I wanted it for you, Elena. I would've gladly given it to you, and let matt die. Because I am that selfish. But you knew that already. First night we met isn’t all that you remember.
