Shah Rukh Khan shoots for Bengal TV campaign
At a time when both of them could do with the services of a spin doctor to tweak their image, Shah Rukh Khan and Mamata Banerjee have started work on giving Bengal the much needed image makeover.
The diarist has learnt that SRK, who was recently anointed ambassador for Bengal, has already shot a part of a TV campaign in Mumbai with ad filmmaker Aniruddha RoyChowdhury. The other part of the 90-minute film will be shot all over Bengal, from the beaches of Digha to the tea estates of Darjeeling, the dense elephant forests of Dooars to the tiger country of Sunderbans. Incidentally, plans are afoot to make SRK wear the babumoshai attire of stylishly crinkled dhoti and kurta, or as they say in Kolkata, 'dhuti - panjabi.' Given the flair with which SRK juggled the ends of his dhoti and a bottle in Devdas, we are sure he will slip into this role with elan.

注释：dhoti & kurta都是印度传统服装,dhoti是长缠腰布,一端缠于臀部和大腿,一端绕过两腿间,然后塞于腰带内,很像一条宽松下垂及膝的裤子.kurta是无领肥大,长及过膝的宽松上衣,有点像罩袍.在古时大多是男子穿的,现在则不分男女都可以穿.
Dhoti一般为正式场合的礼服,多为白色.上班时穿的工作装一种叫Mundu(白色),另一种叫lungi(非白色).Lungi也是男人的居家服,平时出门逛街也穿.

"How about your next directorial venture, Happy New Year with Shah Rukh Khan?
The film will go on the floors by the end of this year. The script was ready last November but there are some changes being made. I wish to start it as early as next month but is not likely to happen.
It’s been a long gap after your last directorial venture Tees Maar Khan. Why?
I took one year off to write a kicker script. I wanted to finish the scripting before I started acting for Shirin Farhad.
Is the rest of the cast finalised?
Discussions are still on. Don’t make me give names or I’ll be in trouble. It’s better to keep them in mind until they are on paper. Shah Rukh is yet to talk to some people before we finalise things. We will announce the entire cast in some time."
