FUMI: Another Kokuryo Drama in MBC?
Hi everyone. We have a news that MBC has a plan to make another Kokuryo drama called "Jameong-Go(a legendary story well-known in Korea)". MBC said, "it is a possible choice to broadcast TWSSG after this Jameong-Go(if this is true then TWSSG will be on airred after June next year). So what happens here? Let me make some guesses for this matter.
Before this, I will introduce some interesting? episodes now in Jeju. Now, some Jeju people call Jeju by Hongapore - Hong Kong plus Singapore. Hong Kong because the relation between Jeju gov't and Korean Gov't is supposed to be similar to the relation between HK gov't and China Gov't. Singapore because Jeju hopes to have an economic system close to Singapore. But it seems Jeju people are not optimistic for this matter and they often mention, "but we can not be Hongapore. Our starts were late" I think this pessimistic mood in Jeju is one reason why Jeju gov't needed BYJ and TWSSG in Jeju. I am sure they expect that this drama and Hanryu expo to become a real path-breaking events for Jeju.
One more Jeju reports. Recently, Jeju people observed many wild dogs in mountains(not far away from TWSSG shooting places). These wild dogs attck cows, pigs and other animals in farm lands and jeju authority said these wild dogs(actually close to wolves) can attack people too. So watch out when you're in mountains of Jeju(my recommended day-dream for today for you: you are surrounded by wild dogs in a mountain in Jeju. You scream, Yong Joon ssi help me. Then, BYJ appears and save you holding you tight. how about this?)
Now about MBC matter. I think basically this is a negotiation card for MBC. We know MBC wants to broadcast TWSSG after Joo Mong(which is now on airred, nobody knows when this Joo Mong will end but generally expected to end Nov. or Dec. this year), but Kim PD wants it to be on airred after all shooting is over(I suppose this will be about the end of Feb. or March next year). Now Joo Mong is a great hit in Korea and MBC wants to continue Kokuryo Series after Joo Mong. This is very important thing for MBC. MBC wants to make a golden age of MBC drama with this Kokuryo Series whose fore-runner is supposed to be TWSSG.
However, Kim PD is the last man in Korea who will be persuaded by other's opinions. I once wrote his weak point is that he does not listen other's opinions. MBC, of course, knows this well and they need some negotiation cards when they talk with Kim PD. Do you remember MBC said they will make historical drama called "Hwang Jini" instead of broadcasting TWSSG several months ago? This new Kokuryo drama, "Jameong-Go" reminds me "Hwang-Jini".
Reading between the lines of the message by MBC authorities, it is not probable that this Jameong-Go is on airred before TWSSG. In my view, MBC will choose to broadcast Joo Mong till Feb. next year and then, broadcast our TWSSG after Joo Mong from about Feb. next year.
