The origins of orogenic belts and basins as well as the mechanism of deep dynamics of basin-mountain coupling have always been the hot issues in geoscientific research. Starting from the basin-mountain coupling, the basin-mountain-basin arch tectonic model was established, and based on the research results of the previous researchers, the stress situation of the basin-mountain system was further analyzed and studied. The results show that in a basin-mountain-basin arch tectonic system, the mountain range can convert its huge gravity into lateral squeezing force （i.e. circumferential stress） through the arch tectonic effect to the basin on both sides, so that the pressure in the basin is much larger than that in the hinterland of the mountain range. The stress difference generated by this arch tectonic effect not only provides a unified power mechanism for basin subsidence and mountain range uplift, but also accumulates energy for the seismic and volcanic activities accompanying basin-mountain evolution.（https://gsdz.gsdkj.net/ch/reader/view_abstract.aspx?file_no=20240301&flag=1）
