摘一段小介绍：The English born artist Josephine Wall (who resides in an English southcoast suburb of Poole, Dorset) specialises in mystical and fantasy paintings. She often strives to impart a message in her scenes, she also hopes to inspire in her audience a personel journey into the magical world of their own imagination.
Josephine works mostly with acrylic paint, which allows her to paint quickly, and to create many textured and colourful effects. She has been influenced and inspired by the illustrative talents of Arthur Rackham, the surrealism of artists such as Magritte and the romanticism of the Pre-Raphaelites. This combined with her own imaginative ideas, has led to wide and varied range of work.
"The art of painting is more than a career to me," she says. "It is an all consuming obsession and a love of color and form. In fact, if I am away from my easel for too long I become restless and anxious to paint again."
Josephine is also an accomplished sculptor and has created a number of unique figurines. Using natural stone found locally, various modelling materials and semi-precious stones she creates models that, when painted, challenge the viewer to find the point where the stone ends and the figure begins.

【AIR&WATER】
Dreams of Atlantis
As the graceful mermaid sleeps in the watery depths of her ocean grotto, she is enveloped in a sea of dreams. In them she sees the shimmering towers of the mythical city of Atlantis, guarded by the powerful King Neptune as he brandishes his trident to ward off unwelcome visitors.
But the gentle mermaid knows in her heart that she is welcome in this magical kingdom where she is free to frolic with the playful dolphins and wave at the sea chariots drawn past her by horses of the sea.



Lilac Dreams
Nestled beneath the silky folds of her lilac satin sheets, she drifts off into the mysterious world of her imagination. As with many young women her fantasies are of fairytale castles, romance and brave deeds. Many images mingle to form a collage of her innermost thoughts. Dreams of warm summer days in the country or perhaps being swept up into the strong arms of her lover to ride off into a sea of clouds, towards the new dawn.

Shared Treasure
To each one of us the magical seashell whispers a different ocean song. Some of us hear simply the soft comforting hush of currents rushing by. Others see in their mind's eye images of little mermaid children playing with dolphins and glistening shell chariots racing by, drawn by sea unicorns and guarded by none other than King Neptune himself. Let each one of us listen to the magic song we hear and share it with those we love.


Astral Voyage
As she sleeps, she dreams she's floating among the stars. Her silken sheets become clouds, and the clouds contain the spirits of the heavens. Below her, great galleons sail majestically on the currents of space to explore the universe.


Call of the Sea
From deep below the waves a beautiful goddess rises from her watery home, to blow her enchanted conch shell.
As she plays, a stream of nautical wonders pour forth. Mermaids and seahorses swim among a myriad of fish heading for the ocean depths, accompanied by playful dolphins.
The mighty city of Atlantis is found again and galleons once more set off on their journeys of discovery.


Twlight Angel
Nestling on her floral perch an angel surveys her handiwork. She watches as lovers are serenaded in their turtle drawn boat, bathed in the warm glow of candlelight. Responding to their request for a night of romance she creates for them a magical twilight world. A place where buildings appear to rise from the water, and a unicorn heads out on a mission of peace. With her ever present companion she is happy to give them a helping hand to realise their dreams.


Starship
Guided by a star-angel, the star ship makes it's way to a magical land of giant lilies and mystical castles. A tattooed goddess reaches out to greet her visitor from the 'galaxsea'.



Mer Angel
This mythical creature is in a state of blissful repose as waterfalls cascade from her hair into a watery world of lily trees and river horses, galloping free down flowery slopes.
The quiet beauty of the moment and the company of her own thoughts bring her comfort and a sense of peace.


Voyage to Murrlis
Love is like a mysterious ship that can carry us on a voyage of the imagination. Gentle music serenades the travellers on this mystical vessel as the wind wafts through the harp on the lion figurehead. Within its shell mast the ship carries an exotic land, while its hold overflows with many gifts, which are, like love, filled with magic and beyond any expectation. A clue to the inspiration of this image is in the title.


I Saw 3 Ships
The inspiration for this painting came from an old nursery rhyme, called Three Ships. The last two verses go like this:
Three pretty girls were in them then,
In them then, in them then.
Three pretty girls were in them then,
On New-Year's day in the morning.
And one could whistle, and one could sing,
And one could play the violin,
Such joy there was at my wedding,
On New-Year's day in the morning.
The girls have become angels, and the ships sails are wings. They are sailing in a sea of dandelions, hence the dandelion seeds and the sun is a huge dandelion.


Thirst for Knowledge
Contained within a single dewdrop tear is a world of education. Mother nature dips her hands into the pool of learning, and as she opens them a mother is revealed bestowing the most precious of gifts to her child – knowledge. The young have a thirst for information which must be fed, and lessons that we learn in youth will map our route through life.


Horizons
Several worlds meet in this union of the earth, sea and sky. Confusing to some, but perfectly accepted by a child, who without the restrictions of experience can just enjoy the simple pleasure of floating on a water lily, above a twilight landscape, whilst overhead, waterfalls cascade to form a lake of stars.
