I always considered myself mathematically talented and only entered CUMT due to my disastrous Chinese and English scores. Last semester, i studied math in vain, yet ended up with only 82 in A1 and 94 in A2. Meanwhile, the English course I completely neglected somehow scored me 90 points - it's completely backwards! What's even funnier is that this useless English class only gives 1 credit point, while those stupid Marxist Studies courses give 3 credits each... This completely contradicts my Shanghai high school experience and baffles me.
As an anarchist, I refuse to compromise myself by taking those hypocritical and authoritarian nonsense classes. The whole system is so phony!
In short, my strengths are being crushed while inexplicable low-credit garbage courses fill up my schedule. I've utterly given up on securing a recommendation for postgraduate studies.
Where do I go from here? With my Shanghai pride, I can't even consider staying at CUMT for a mediocre master's degree - that would make me no better than a coward. My options are clear: either crush it in the 985 Electrical Engineering entrance exam or go back home to rot, but I can't afford to lose face.
I wasted last semester, but fortunately spent 40 days during winter vacation crazily studying English to rebuild my foundation. From now on, I'll skip all undesired courses like Marxism, C Programming, and miscellaneous labs - I have plenty of time to prepare for the GRE.
Here's my battle plan:
Freshman Year
· Master "CATTI Practical Translation," "CATTI Vocabulary Manual," "Chinese-English Translation," and "English-Chinese Translation" through intensive study
· Pass CATTI Level 3 (both written and oral) in one go, using it as a stepping stone for CATTI Level 2
· Crush CET-6 with 525+ (aiming for 600+)
Sophomore Year (First Semester)
· Tackle all textbook problems in
My dream score breakdown:
· Political Science: 65
· English Test 1: 85
· Math Test 1: 135
· 827 Circuit Theory: 125
