After seeing the advanced screening here are my thoughts, first of all some notes from my view:
　　I've heard of TGH before but never seen any comic/show of previous works, most I know is probaly it's connected to Lone Ranger and starred Bruce Lee.
On to the movie(No spoilers):
　　This is definitely a new 'style' of movie by Gondry, so do not expect anything like his previous works. I was a little worried that Gondry may not work well with such a large budge and comic-source. Thankfully, some way into the film my worries were erased.
Highlights of the movie were definitely the innovative stylized action sequences, mainly from Kato. Although there was quite a bit of slo-mo, it is not the standard action slo-mo as Gondry added fresh innovations, fun twists to amp up the "coolness" and it works. Light humour occured somewhat frequently in the film and generated laughs, similar to something along lines of Ironman.
Now on to the actors/resses:
　　-Rogen: surprising cast, but he definitely made the humour work and seemed to perform acceptable action scenes despite outward appearances. Personally not a fan of him before but he seem to have done well to shake off his past "image", if that's he wanted to achieve in this film.
　　-Chou: never heard of this guy before but this guy is the MAN(haha, you'll get the joke when you see the film). He is a pleasure to watch on screen, both in and out of action scenes. Only slight drawback is his English is not perfect, but is definitely passable. I am interested to see him in future films, which I am sure he will receive more offers after this film is released, seems like he could be a possible successor to Jet Li.
