Transcript of Josh's vlog 07-11-10 Posted by Violet 11 July 2010 - 08:43 PM Buzzing Like A Vuvuzela What’s up, everybody? It’s a little late, but here’s my vlog as promised this weekend. Where should I begin? Okay, top of the list. I would hereby like to announce to all of you that the musical portion of the album is done. . . FINISHED! We are done. I’ve pretty much recorded my last vocal. The orchestra is finished. The musicians are finished. We started mixing three days ago. So. .. It feels strange to say it, but we’re just about finished! And I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that this is the most proud I have ever been of any project that I have ever made. I have put my blood, sweat and tears into this record. There have been some frustrations. It has been as I have shared with you in my other vlogs that. . . a kind of tumultuous year, but man, I am feeling so, so good about the music. That has been my redemption and I sincerely hope you guys enjoy it too. I just know that it is going to be an amazingly fun year! And for those of you asking if it will be out before the end of the year, definitely! With a couple of months to spare. We’re looking at the fall, which is great. Some exact dates coming as soon as we have them. We have to do artwork and packaging and stuff like that. It’s a few months after the music and the mixing is finished, you know, before you can get the product out there. But I am just so relieved that the music is done. Anyway, that is enough about that. Speaking of traveling, the reason I am in New York, I am apartment hunting. I have decided I am going to live in New York halftime, which is thrilling to me, because it has been a dream of mine to live in New York since my first time coming here when I was a teenager. Uhm, and so, I’ve been here kind of having meetings and finishing some other artistic stuff, and also just kind of looking around and seeing where I want to live. And so, I found a place and I’m very excited, and it’s going to make it a lot easier with a lot of the international travel coming up to be here. And it’s a little bit less of a flight than coming from LA, because the international portion for me is going to be a huge step for this record. I’m going to be in Europe, Australia, South America, Asia. . . I’m gonna be. . .did I hit them all? Canada, everywhere. So, this will be a good hub for me. What else? Congratulations to Spain. My condolences to Netherlands. I have some amazing fans in both countries, so not taking sides. They both played really, really well. That referee, I think, was a little card crazy, didn’t really let them play like they should’ve, but all in all, the goal that was scored was a really good one, and so my congratulations to all my Spanish fans. Uh, what else, guys? I know I had tons and tons of things to share with you, but the main thing is I just wanted to tell you hello and tell you that the music was finished, and. . . Oh. . . Glee. I was on Glee, the finale of Glee. . . thanks for watching. . . as a judge with the amazing Olivia Newton-John, who’s actually. . . funny story. I was with David Foster today having some lunch at his hotel, and we were talking about Olivia Newton-John and how the first time I met Olivia Newton-John was at a Charity event that David was doing at his house in like 1998. And I was. . . my dad has a video tape of me sitting with Olivia at the rehearsal and she leans over and says, ‘You’ve got a really nice voice. Has David signed you yet?" And I said, "Oh, no. I don’t know if that is gonna happen." And she said, "Don’t worry. I’m sure he will." And I still have that video. And I laugh because here we are on Glee together, doing. . . looking like a$$holes together on Glee on the finale. So, speaking of which, it’s fun to play against type. You know we had a good time doing that show. The cast is amazingly talented. I have so much respect for that cast and all the work they have to put in it. So happy for all the nominations they got. I was very pleased and honored to have been a small part of this season. So, thanks you guys for watching.
Uhm, that’s it! So much more news. I’ve got some big announcements coming up about the Foundation. We’re making some changes. I want to focus it a little more. I am gonna unveil the new name of the Foundation coming up very soon. Not that I don’t like my name, but you know, I want it to be a foundation that continues to thrive even if I drop off the face of the planet. So, I’ve come up with a really, really good name for it, and a wonderfully focused mission for it that I think everybody will be very pleased with. I hope you are anyway. We are gonna redesign the website, and redesign that, and just all sorts of good stuff happening. I’ve been having so many exciting meeting with my management. Everybody is onboard. Everybody is excited. And, if you can’t tell, uhm. . . I’m like ready to explode because this has been a year of patience for me and for you guys, and it’s exciting to see that it’s actually happening. Oh, I made a movie. I’m in a movie that is called Crazy, Stupid, Love. And again, I don’t know why I like to. . . I don’t know why I play a$$holes all the time. I was kind of a jerky version of myself in Glee, and in this movie I play a real, real. . . uhm douche-bag named Richard. Uh, and uh. . . that’s all I’m gonna tell you. But it’s very, very funny. There is a lot of improv and a lot of funny stuff happening. And that’s it. I’ve had an expresso, you can probably tell and I’m gonna leave you guys on that. So, have a lovely night. Have a great rest of your week. And more announcements to come, until then, thanks for humoring me by reading my 3 a.m. twitters.
