传说中所谓的8米+超巨型湾鳄The jalajala crocodile was a claimed 27ft monster killed in 1823. This however was greatly exaggerated but for years many believed it to be true, even to this day.
A skull analysis by Greer in 1974 indicated the actual size was way less than what was claimed, the DCL was measured to be 67cm with a fresh estimate being 70cm.
Using the 1:8 or 1:9 ratio used for giant crocs we could safely say the jalajala croc was between 18ft and 20ft long. Still no small croc by any means but no 27ft monster.
This story mirrors that of the fabled savannah king croc killed in australia.
