I remind that the largest lion definitely
considerable accurately and reliable reported in my opinion within historical literature
including non-scientific publications, is the largest one shot and measured by Vaughan
Kirby (1899, and in”The Great and Small Game of Africa”, Ed. Bryden, 1899). That absolutely huge animal measured 7 feet 2 inches (2184 mm) in head-and- body length in straight line between pegs (HBL at 7 ft 2 inches is reported in both publications and should therefore be accurately reported and printed), 3 ft 8 inches (1118 mm) in shoulder height in straight line
between pegs (also givenat 3 ft 7 inches, 1092 mm), 59 inches (1499 mm) in chest girth and with a skull 16 inches long (406.4 mm).
