Henry, I was a fan of yours from the time you were still so
shy and adorably clueless about what was going on. You don’t know how many
times I’ve died from your cuteness when you were struggling with the language
and probably understanding even less than you normally would have because of
nervousness. The other members have had time to get used to the media and being
on stage while you were kinda thrown on there and put in the spotlight even
with all the controversy that was already there. And although you were shy and
didn’t really know what you were doing, when you had the violin in your hands,
you did a 180 and exuded confidence and charisma. I’ve followed your growth and
you have never disappointed me. I gradually saw your skills as a dancer, a
pianist, and a singer. When I heard the music you mixed for your solo, as well
a Geng’s I was impressed. I saw a fancam of you dancing Donghae’s solo with him
and it blew me away. As you continued to improve, I was so proud of you and so
happy I invested in you. At the Taiwan fan party where you sang Jay Chou’s An
Jing, it moved me so much that tears came unknowingly to my eyes and I don’t
even understand the language. Just the amount of emotion you put into the
performance transcended the language barrier.
And just when I thought you couldn’t get any better, you surprise me
with “sick of love” that was created 100% by you. During the SJ-M’s comeback,
your personality came out and you’ve brought me so much joy with your hilarious
antics. And through this all, even though you’ve grown so much, you still have
the same humbleness, kindness, and sweet personality that I fell in love with. Your amazing talent and hard work is felt and
acknowledged by us all. There is nothing more that you can do because you are
already doing everything perfectly.
I am so proud that you have spoken out as well. I know many
celebrities are afraid of the netizen’s reactions so they hold in what they
want to say or take off what they write when they are blasted with negative
comments, but I think that just lets them win. They are vindictive and feel
like only their opinion is the right opinion even if it goes against what their
beloved idol, actor, artist, etc, believes. That is not love. They force their opinions
onto who they supposedly ‘love’ and will be the first ones to insult, bash, and
scorn them if it goes against what they want their precious oppa to say. I’ve
seen many withdraw comments because of that and I can’t help but feel that it
only encourages the hateful behaviour because it makes them feel justified.
That’s why I’ve always been a big fan of Heechul. He says many controversial
things that may give him anti’s but he sticks to his opinions and doesn’t give
shit about what others say because in the end we are all entitled to our own
opinion. Celebrities shouldn’t have to feel like they must hide what they
really want to say and smile when people are throwing abuse at you. I feel some
‘fans’ need to be told that what they are doing is despicable, hurtful, and no
you are not going to apologize for stating what you feel because it is the god
damn truth and they need to know that their actions, no matter what cotton
candy excuse they use to cover the behaviour, are exactly that. Celebrities are
people too, who have feelings and they should not be expected to just accept it
and suck it up because they are celebrities. I hope it makes people think
because this kind of hatred can kill people and they should be made aware of it
before it does take a life.
I hope you feel better and feel the love that surrounds you
from around the world. You make us fans very proud. And you make us Canadians very
proud (I squealed when I saw you wearing Roots :D). I will continue to support
you no matter what. FIGHTING!!
