加拿大公民及移民部（CIC） 2008-11-28 日最新公布了加拿大技术移民227优先处理程序的实施细节，其中增加了38大类移民紧缺职业，如果申请者申请的职业（过去10年内最少一年紧缺职业经验）在该职业列表中，则227新政下的申请周期可以提高到 6-12 个月，新申请不在该职业列表中申请将被退回。对于2008年2月27号之前递交的申请来说，职业不在该紧缺职业列表中的申请者来说虽然不会被退回但申请周期有可能较长。
