U-Pass
The new Transit Subsidy Program allows for eligible students that use public transit to receive partial credit when they purchase a Translink monthly pass in July or August. The subsidy is not available retroactively for the month of June. Through this program, students with financial need would end up paying the same amount for a Monthly Pass as they would have for the UPass ($42.50), and the difference would be subsidized by the AMS/GSS/UBC as credit towards their tuition. Due to limited resources, eligibility is determined based on financial need.
To apply, students must fill out this form.
UBC is currently considering options to ensure student access to affordable transportation by the start of Winter Term 1.
