中国成为“南极条约”协商国（1985年）－－－－－
     １９８５年１０月７日，“南极条约”协商国在这里举行的特别会议上，一致同意接纳中国和乌拉圭为该条约协商 成员国。
     由许光建率领的中国代表团出席了在这里开幕的为期两周的第十三届“南极条约”协商会议。这次会议将主要讨论 在保护环境的同时，开发该地区主要是石油的未被开采的资源等问题。
     根据１９５９年１２月１日在美国华盛顿签订的“南极条约”有关条款，该条约的非创始国如果积极开展对南极的 科学考察，都可以加入该条约，并参加协商会议。
     自１９８０年以来，中国派出许多勘察团对南极地区进行了大量的科学考察。１９８３年６月，中国加入了“南极 条约”。１９８４年年底，中国考察团在南极进行科学研究，并在那里正式建立了一个南极科学考察站。

1936年10月7日，红四方面军与中央红军在甘肃会宁会师，标志着举世闻名的中国工农红军从江西中央革命根据地开始的两万五千里长征胜利结束。 这是甘肃会宁县城门的资料照片。

１８８８年１０月７日，清政府批准《北洋海军章程》，北洋海军正式成军。当时的北洋舰队，拥有大小舰艇２５ 艘。后续有舰艇调进。到１８９４年甲午战争爆发前夕，北洋舰队的舰艇总数达到４２艘，吨位４５０００余吨。

１９５４年１０月７日，新疆生产建设兵团正式成立。１９５４年，中共中央作出屯垦戍边的战略决策，同年１０月７日，中共中央、毛主席命令新疆的１０．５万驻军官兵，连同家属在内共１７．５万人集体就地转业，组成新疆生产建设兵团。此后，兵团又不断补充转业官兵，以及来自河南、湖北、北京、上海和天津等地的１０万名支边知青，组成以军事化的建制从事生产建设的世界上独一无二的兵团。到２００４年１０月，兵团已发展成为拥有１４个农业师、局，１７４个农牧团、场，５０００多家企业，２５０多万人的中国最大的农工商经济联合体。
