This is the tigress which attacked the wilddogs.Myself and the bandipur DCF'S family were on the safari when we saw the event unfold before us.We had missed the tiger in the morning safari [The one which Shri.M N Jayakumar,vijay cavale,Dr.ajit and Mr.srinivas sighted].In the evening we were again almost about to return back when Dr.Ajit told us that there were a few dholes in the road ahead.While we went ahead to see the dholes , Dr.Ajit left the spot.The dogs were lying on the side of the game road,carrying on their usual activities of fun and frolic with one another.After watching the dogs for about 15mins i told the driver to drive ahead to the lake situated at the end of the same road to take a last chance to spot a tiger.There were just a few village buffalos near the lake and we dejectedly took a u turn back to the path leading to the wild dogs.100 meters ahead there she was!! The bare path through which we had traversed a minute back was now dominated by the tigress who somewhat keenly was rushing ahead on the path .Her head posture and body language suggested that she had scented the dogs ahead!!.We started to follow her and after about 3-4 minutes she suddenly got into the bushes on the right and did not move an inch. While she was gazing ahead from inside the bushes we soon saw a gypsy from a pvt resort joining the path from the right.The people in the gypsy had no idea that to their right was a tigress watching and waiting for them to move off so that she could continue her pursuit.! The gypsy did move Ahead without noticing her, but the tigress who was in a haste quickly got out to the open [IN THE PIC]only to be noticed by a passenger at the rear.Immediately the gypsy was in the reverse gear with its incumbents desperate to get a quick snap or two of her majesty.We thought that it was the end of the show but to our surprise the tigeress got in to the bushes only to reappear ahead of both our vehicle and the gypsy! meanwhile we were joined by another two jeeps from the rear.Though there were now 4 jeeps on the track , she was hell determined to get ahead on the same path leading to the dogs.She now started playing the game of hide and seek.She walked furiously inside the lantana bushes parallel to the jeeps giving us an occassional glimpse in the open patches.The movement the dogs sensed her arrival they ran in to the bushes only to be chased by her!
