课程介绍：
I offer courses in fiction writing, persuasive writing, public speaking, and analytical reading/writing; each of them is 8 sessions long.
- The fiction writing course would introduce them to some of my favorite (and age-appropriate) short stories to use as models for their own creative work.
- The persuasive writing class will introduce students to the conventions of essay writing: how to craft a sophisticated thesis statement, introduction paragraph, body paragraph, and conclusion paragraph. We'll also examine strong sample essays written by students and learn from them. This course will teach students how to defend their stance with evidence, and how to prove their points to their readers using effective written language.
- The public speaking course would teach them how to compose, and deliver, an effective informative, persuasive, and entertaining speech. We'll use real speeches as models for what strive for, as well as what to avoid. The class is fun, interactive, and melds writing skills with oratory skills.
- The analytical reading/writing introduces the students to ways to analyze well-written (and age-appropriate) articles and to write various responses to them.
