世界发生改变是在香吉士被人捅了之后。
捅人的人叫特拉法尔加?罗。是和香吉士上床的红发男人尤斯塔斯?基德的情人。
这是一个报应，他毁了香吉士的生活。学校的所有人都知道了香吉士的性取向，丑闻永远比美名传播得更快。香吉士在高中三年的时间建筑出来的好学生模样最后还是被揭穿，大家对他指指点点。
如果生活只是如此，也并不算太糟糕。最起码索隆不会认为香吉士会因此受到严重摧毁。真正的令香吉士崩溃的是有人抖落出了他母亲和父亲的事情，那是个可怕的病毒，它馋食了香吉士十九年的时间，现在它彻底恶化扭曲了他剩下的生命。
作为近亲生下来的孩子，香吉士天生就有精神分裂，他会时不时发作。隐因不过就是源自出身的卑微。所以两个爸爸对待香吉士总是小心翼翼。这是索隆在差点儿被香吉士杀死之后听两个爸爸说的。现在他被它吞噬，彻底的发疯。
他杀了学校的学生，没人愿意提起这件事，过程太过惨然，谁都没有想到一个品学兼优的好学生发起疯来这么恐怖。他用凳子砸扁了一个学生的脑袋，那学生的脑浆和鲜血喷满了教师。他抓着一个学生把他按死在了洗手池里。最后一个被他杀死的学生是被他活生生咬断脖子上的大动脉失血过多而死的，老师们把他拉开时，他从嘴巴里面吐出了那个学生脖子上的肉。
香吉士他再也不会被人骂杂种了。
索隆隔着精神病院的玻璃对着香吉士说，“我说过，这个世界上只有让人害怕你，他们才不敢说你不喜欢听的话。”
是的。再也没有人叫香吉士杂种了。他们都叫他，杀人的疯子。
索隆依然是这个城市里的混混，依然平静无波，一切的改变对他来说无关痛痒。他和香吉士之间没有爱情，甚至连感情都没有。他们之间从来都是只有看到对方难过，才会舒坦的人，现在他满面春光。

然而索隆并不知道香吉士逃出了精神病院。
他知道的时候，他已经被香吉士一剑刺中了心脏，香吉士对着他笑得一脸嘲讽和鄙视。
