不一定!!!
大部分美国学校对于活动数量是没有偏好的,比如哈佛:“Some students list only activities they feel will appear significant to the admissions office, while others endeavor to list every single thing they have ever done. Neither approach is right for everyone.”(有些学生只列出了他们认为招生办公室会看重的事情,有些会把他们做过的所有事情都列出来。没有一种方式是适用于任何人的。)相对于活动的数量,名校更看重学生在活动中的付出和收获。斯坦福就明确表达了活动在精而不在多的观点:“In fact, an exceptional depth of experience in one or two activities may demonstrate your passion more than minimal participation in five or six clubs.”(事实上,一两项活动的深度参与要比在五六个社团浅浅参与更能展现你的热情。)耶鲁也有类似的看法:“The joy you take in the pursuits that really matter to you – rather than a resume padded with a long list of activities – will strengthen your candidacy.”(你在追求真正喜欢的东西时所获得的快乐能为你的申请加分,而不是一份包含大量活动的简历)当然,如果你非常优秀,每一项活动都做得特别好,投入了巨大的精力,有不错的成果,都写上完全没有问题。
