People around the world still suffer from hunger despite the advances made in the agriculture.
There are many reasons that can account for this phenomenon. First off, to use the developed high technology in agriculture, a country needs to be fairly wealthy. However, there are lots of countries still in critical financial conditions. Help from other countries that manage such technologies does not solve the problem fundamentally. Besides, political issues are also involved. Some governments refuse help from other countries and cover up the fact that its people are actually starving. Other governments, because of dictator leaders who do not put their citizens’ interest at first, make wars that causes hundreds of people homeless, let alone not having enough food for people to eat.
So, how to eliminate poverty from the human world? Personally speaking, I do not think that will ever happen. But there is surely something we can do to abate hunger globally. For global problems like this one, every country plays an important part. The UN should take this matter seriously and make propositions to first-world countries that they donate some of their agricultural techniques and free machines to help areas that desperately need them. Or short term speaking and to solve such problems more effectively, especially in war zones, countries in a relatively good place could donate a large amount of food that are convenient to preserve, so that people suffering from hunger can be fed in time.
Truth is, no matter how developed modern technologies are, as long as human’s inherent selfishness exits, problems like this would never go away. What we can do is to mitigate the seriousness of the such problems.
