瑪麗的演員在第三季訪談中說：
Over the course of the series, over three series, he becomes incredibly fond of her. and can't really do without her.
在三季之后，夏洛克变得極其喜欢茉莉了，而且也离不开她。
Molly is just this rock for Sherlock even though he doesn't know it. But she's just, she's there for him, and he turns to her in his darkest hour.
茉莉是夏洛克的基石尽管他自己不知道。但是她会一直守护着他，他在人生最灰暗的时候是去茉莉那里寻求帮助。

So she’s become one of a very small select band of people he absolutely trusts.
