He had tried and failedseveral times in imperial examination in youth, then he returned to study in themountain for several years and passed the examination and became Jinshi inTianbao twe year. He had been working in the official office until resignmentat eighty years old. It is said that Xiuwei is the longest lived poet in Tangdynasty. Most of his poems are five characters, with simple and leisure style.He likes to portray countryside and is one of poets of pastoral school inflourishing Tang dynasty. His most famous poems includes Ti Nong Fu Lu She, XunXishan Yinzhe Buy U, And Fan Ruo Ye Xi .
