Typhoon (TY) WUTIP (02W) continues to intensify as it moes west-northwestward @ 26 km/hr towards Western Micronesia, packing winds of 195 km/hr and gusting higher at 215 km/hr. Long-range Global forecasts are hinting for a possible Southern Marianas Islands passage in the coming days, but there’s still a high degree of uncertainty at this time. Should the storm enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) later this week, which is very unlikely at this time, it will be named locally as ‘‘Betty.”
