31-year-old Dembélé played the last 6.5 years for British Premier League football club Tottenham. Loved by the fans and described by his trainer as 'a genius', rumors of his possible transfer to Beijing Guo'an began to surface last summer, but he eventually took the decision to move a bit more south to Guangzhou.
He has been part of the Belgian national team the Red Devils since he was 18 years old, mainly as a midfielder, and helped the Red Devils to reach #1 in the FIFA Global Ranking.
During an interview about his future endeavours, Dembélé mentioned that he looked forward to joining Guangzhou R&F and would put forward his utmost best to contribute to its overall success.
