Giovani is back in light training at Portman Road but is still hindered by the groin problem that saw him miss Mexico's World Cup games last week.
The loanee from Tottenham was forced off in the first-half of the goalless draw with Watford and it was an injury that kept him out of his country's qualifiers against Costa Rica and Honduras.
"Gio is back with us and that's good news," Town assistant manager John Gorman told the Club website.
"He did some light work with the fitness coach because the injury is still niggling him a bit and we will see how he goes this week before we know if he will be fit for the Easter games.
"Jon Walters trained with us today as well and he's making a great improvement."
The current Town Player of the Year is recovering from damaged ankle ligaments.
