Design Classes
The most popular types of design classes are Fashion Design, Graphic Design，Interior Design，industrial design, interaction design and transportation design.
Fashion Design
Fashion Design is concerned with the design and creation of new fashions. This is primarily achieved by studying current fashions and making predictions about future fashion trends. Styles, colors and fabrics all play a part in the current and future fashion trends. Within Fashion Design, there are different areas of focus.

Graphic Design
Graphic Designers focus on the visual layout of a message and the colors, text and font used therein to convey a particular message. Photographed images, animation and illustration are used in the creation of images as well. Their skills are used in electronic format, in newspapers, magazines, and even on screen! Industrial Design
Industrial design is an applied art whereby the aesthetics and usability of mass-produced products may be improved for marketability and production. The role of an Industrial Designer is to create and execute design solutions towards problems of form, usability, user ergonomics, engineering, marketing, brand development and sales.

Transportation Design
汽车设计师需要具备什么样的素质
1.对汽车的热爱——要创造汽车，就必须有对汽车追求不懈的本能的热情和敏感的洞悉能力。可以肯定全世界的汽车设计师都热爱他们的工作，“血液中流动着汽油”是汽车设计师的一致特点。

　　 2.汽车专业知识——包括认识性能、功能、技术和生产工艺等等。由于汽车非常注重使用性，设计师必须知道各种设计会带来怎样的效果，譬如不同的车尾造型所得的空气动力学效果，前后悬的长度对操控性的影响，车内布局所涉及的人体工程学，还有各种部件的选材、成本和加工方法等等。这些知识决非一朝一日就可以掌握的，而且还要融会贯通、综合运用。
　　在工业设计的各个分支中，汽车设计所要求的技术知识是相当高的，这就解释了为什么经常有著名的汽车设计师“客串”设计钟表、家具、电器等工业产品，却从来没有其他行业的设计师可以成功地设计汽车；这也解释了为什么过去的“美工”只能触及皮毛而搞不出真正的设计来。

3.创造力——丰富的想象、创新能力和前瞻性是必不可少的，这是设计师与工程师的一大区别。工程设计采用计算法或类比法，工作的性质主要是改进、完善而非创新；造型设计则非常讲究原创和独创性，设计的元素是变化无穷的线条和曲面，而不是严谨、繁琐的数据，“类比”出来的造型设计不可能是优秀的。
　　
　　 4.美术功底——简单而言是画画的水平，进一步说则是美学水平和审美观。可以肯定全世界没有一个设计师是不会画画的，“图画是设计师的语言”，这道理也不用多说了。虽然现今已有其它能表达设计的方法（如计算机），但纸笔作画仍是最简单、直接、快速的方法。事实上虽然用计算机、模型可以将构思表达得更全面，但最重要的想象、推敲过程绝大部分都是通过简易的纸和笔来进行的。

　　 5.设计技能——包括油泥模型制作的手工和计算机设计软件的应用能力等等。当然这些技能需要专业的培养训练，没有天生的能工巧匠，但较强的动手能力是必须的。
　　
　　 6.工作技巧——即协调和沟通技巧。这里牵涉到管理的范畴，但由于设计对整个产品形象、技术和生产都具有决定性的指导作用，所以善于协调、沟通才能保证设计的效率和效果。这是对现代设计师的一项附加要求。
　　
　　 7.市场意识——全世界的汽车都是造来卖的。虽然也有天马行空的概念车，但造它们的目的还是为了探索市场从而卖车。汽车设计师是艺术家，也是产业家，尤其在投产车型的设计中必须作生产（成本）和市场（顾客的口味、文化背景、环境气候等等）的考虑。脱离市场的设计肯定不会好卖，那设计师也不会好过。这听来有些惟利是图，但创造受欢迎的产品又何尝不是为人类谋幸福呢？
