The Graduate Division's Graduate Preparation Program will be held from August 28, 2017- September 20, 2017. This intensive program focuses on English for Academic Purposes (EAP), academic skills, and cultural orientation for international graduate students at UC Santa Cruz. The cost of the program per student is $850 (detailed at http://global.ucsc.edu/globalcollaboration/programs/gradprep/datesandcost.html).
All international graduate students whose first language is not English are encouraged to attend the program. It provides a strong foundation to the U.S. classroom environment and university system, in addition to the opportunity to practice and master the language and academic skills needed for success.
You are STRONGLY RECOMMENDED to attend the program if:
you are interested in obtaining a Teaching Assistant position at UCSC for the upcoming academic year, AND
you have not passed the IELTS or TOEFL exam with a qualifying score (8 overall for the IELTS; or 26 for the TOEFL sub-score in Speaking).
