hi hi tiff,
just like the movie...
your first review was already good, and the second review even better...
at the risk of sounding like your echo,
i too enjoyed the movie even more the second time around,
and mind you, i already like it the first time i saw it.
and... it's exactly like what you said...
i wasn't particularly moved or touched or distraught
or feeling any strong emotions or attachment as i watched the movie
[both times],
and i do find that afterwards, i think abit more about the movie,
and find myself wanting to see it again.
when i felt this way after the first time,
i thought i was just feeling what a fan would be feeling.
but when the second time around,
the same urge to want to see it again happened again,
i knew i was on to something good.
it's really a quiet movie,
so quiet i felt as though i could hear director hur's thoughts behind the movie.
i must say i saw AS first as a hur jinho movie,
coz the elements of his rather distinctive style are all there.
and i also didn't see in-soo's character as bae yong joon,
he was in-soo through and through in my eyes.
like tiff, i noticed things and felt things that i'd missed the first time around,
and with each layer being peeled away,
the story gets better,
and surprisingly, as each layer is being peeled away,
i didn't feel that the movie got 'deeper' and more philosophical,
instead, i thought things got simpler
and the emotions somehow felt even more real.
i like that. i like that very much.
and i've to say this once again,
the ost's great!
p.s. my fave-fave scene is the seo-young-hiding-in-bathroom scene.
