Official: De Melo Leaves Palermo For Lille
Brazilian striker Tulio De Melo has left Palermo for Lille before even playing an official match for the Sicilian club.
It was already a rumour, but now, according to Sky Sport, it's official: striker Tulio De Melo is leaving Palermo after just a few months at the Sicilian club, who have reached an agreement with Lille worth around 4 million euros.
For the young Brazilian, who had arrived at the end of last season, the adventure at Palermo is over practically before it ever began. When it became clear to the player that coach Stefano Colantuono did not intend to give him a place in his starting eleven, De Melo told the club he wanted to find a new solution, and Palermo decided to grant him his wish.
So now the Rosanero will be looking to sign another striker, and according to the latest news they are close to Sergio Floccari, whom Colantuono already knows from his time at Atalanta. The club from Lombardy are asking around 10 million euros, which isn't a small amount for Palermo, but after the money earned from De Melo's transfer, they might be slightly more willing to spend.
