Ian Thorpe visit discussed at Illawarra Women in Business networking event

Illawarra Women In Business’s monthly Coffee Club on Thursday focused on IWIB’s 10th anniversary and annual businesswomen’s awards this month.
An announcement was also made that McKeon Swim School was helping bring Ian Thorpe to Wollongong for a networking lunch just after the Rio Olympic Games.
Director Glenda Papac said The Thorpedo would be coming to Wollongong to talk to Illawarra businesswomen almost as soon as he hopped off the plane.
She said it was also hoped commitments would allow David and Emma McKeon to attend. Both have made selection for the 2016 Olympic Games. Their parents Ron and Susie McKeon are both attending the lunch.
Mrs Papac said tickets had also nearly sold out for the annual awards on April 29.

Ian Thorpe to speak to Illawarra Women in Business
But IWIB is planning to continue to roll out the big names in 2016.
Among the announcements Glenda Papac, Margaret Biggs, Dianne Chalk and Virginia Wren made to the 450 women present on Friday was that Olympic swimming great Ian Thorpe will be guest speaker at the business networking lunch in September.
“Ian will be arriving back from commentating at the Brazil Olympics in August and joining us for lunch on 2nd September,” Mrs Papac said.
Illawarra businesswomen are also being encouraged to enter IWIB’s annual business awards on April 29, 2016 at City Beach Function Centre.
