--叶子呈窄的椭圆状至竹片状，有短尖头，叶色从蓝绿色至泛红的绿色不等，叶缘红色，整个或大部边缘有短细圆齿，长12-15厘米，宽5-7.5厘米。
Flowering stems erect, 1 - 2 per rosette, pinkish, 30 - 70 cm tall, lower bracts resembling the leaves, 1 - 5 x 0.5 - 1.5 cm, oblanceolate-lanceolate, reddish.
--花剑直立，每个莲座1-2根，粉红色，高30-70厘米；底部苞片形状与叶片形状近似，长0.5-1.5厘米，倒披针状至披针状（？），红色。
Inflorescence paniculate, 4 - 5 cincinni with 6 - 8 flowers each, bracts lanceolate, 5 - 10 x 3 - 4 mm, pedicels 8 - 10 mm, pinkish.

Flowers : Sepals unequal, ascending, 3.4 - 6.8 x 1.5 - 2 mm, reddish-green, acute, corolla urceolate-pentagonal, 10 - 11 mm long, petals lanceolate, slightly reflexed at apex, orange-pink on the outside, yellow on the inside, margin pink, filaments yellowish.

Differs mainly in the size of the corolla which is only 13 - 16 mm long.
--与其它亚种（*阿兹塔和var. longissima）的主要区别在于花冠的大小。罗变b的花比其它两种小得多，长度只有13-16毫米；而阿兹塔（var. aztatlensis）光雄蕊长度就有35毫米，var. longissima的花长度也通常在30毫米以上。
