Chapter3 That summer holiday was quite amazing. I finished my first term’s study with an A plus in biology, an A plus in mathematics, an B in physics and an A in music. Mom told me she and my sister was leaving for Sydney to see me. I finally cleaned up my room (with the help of Tyler and Connor). “Have you EVER cleaned your room?” Tyler complained. “I don’t think he have cleaned his room since the beginning of the term.” “Alright, Con. You are fucking right. Now come and help me with these boxes.” 2 hours later, we were sweaty, exhausted and hungry. Tyler ordered us pizza and we three just lay down on the sofa, watching movies and eating pizza. It was already 4:20 when I checked the time. I saw my mom’s car which parked beside the road. I got up from the sofa ,or to say, Connor( I've been lying on him for the whole time without even realizing) I helped my mom drag her suitcase into the bedroom opposite to mine. “Mom! Here for a moment.” “This is my friend Tyler Oakley. Tyler, my mom.” He smiled warmly, and mom smiled back. "And this is Connor..." Later that night, she told me that she is happy to see me having fun with friends. . My mom and sister stayed for Christmas, and it was great. When the bell rang at Christmas Eve, my two families and I gave each other a warm hug. I went back to my room. Dialed a phone number and waited. “Hi, Con, it’s Troye. I’m fine, right. Just wanna call you to say Merry Christmas.” He also wished me a merry Christmas, and we hang up. I called Tyler and my dad who is in Perth with my brother and the rest of my family. The next day, I went to the mall with my sister and bought a massive amount of food. She was really really happy about it. Christmas passed away quickly, more quickly than I thought. My mom and sister returned to Perth later that week. Summer holiday was fading away and I was surprised by how panic I was realizing there is only a week left for holiday. Tyler and I went to pick Connor up at the airport.
Chapter4 Once people own something, they become fearful. Fear of losing what they have. The final term of my senior school life faded away in a harsh. Harsh, everyone was applying for colleges they preferred. Slow, but I am not worrying about time, for my family had agreed on my request of a gap year. I am feeling really mentally exhausted after all of my high school studies. Talking about gap year, I was feeling so excited. A whole year and I could do whatever I wanted to. I was surprised not because my parents’ great decision, they said they both wished that I could see more of the outside world, rather than staying home all day lone. What truly surprised me was that they agreed extremely easily and told me that they were thinking about the same idea even before. I know clearly what I am gonna do during the gap year. The idea had been in my head for quite a long time. I had a sudden feeling of panic, not the panic of excitement but the real panic, striking right from my heart when thinking about leaving my families and friends to travel alone. Leaving my friends… I haven’t really thought about the graduation though, and leaving my friends. Two names popped out in my head as they always did whenever I thought about friends. I decided to tell them first. The other day, in the dining hall, 12:20 “Hey guys.” I said. “I’ve got something important to tell you. I AM GOING ON A GAP YEAR AFTER I LEAVE SCHOOL.” I said to them, word by word. Silence fell for a second. “Congrats, Troye! ” Tyler burst into his high pitched laughter. “Really cool thing, isn’t it?” Connor was simply speechless in shock, sat there, wide-eyed. After a moment, he cleared his throat, “So, any plans for the gap year?” “Yeah. Well, I am thinking about a tour around Europe and then America” “But you are not travelling all the time, are you?” “Of course not. I tend to stay in America for about six months, I mean, after the tour.” “That would be perfect!” Tyler said.
