Error "Can not find the Hi-Rez installation" when you start the game via Steam is due to the fact that in the registry are entries from no-Steam client. This conflict is solved in the following manner:
1. Go to the Steam/steamapps/common/SMITE/Binaries/Redist/
2. Run InstallHiRezService.exe
3. After starting the deinstallation window appears, accept
4. Start the game via Steam. The new launcher will be installed automatically
