so i did end up going to the first round of teams against teams !!! (7/22)
pls dont read my review if you don’t want spoilers***
they made me wait for fuckin 6 hOURS I REALLY HATE MNET THEYRE THE WORST : )
i forgot some but uh the final contestants from each of the teams were superbee, lil boi, basick, innovator, incredible, black nut, mino, andup, geegooin, etc but uhm the ppl i talk about below are the ones that came out of stage bc the producers gave them the mic.
basick was dope and all but i couldnt understand a word he said?? i thought maybe its the mic or the sound system of the studio in general but innovator went right after basick and i heard his lyrics fine so i guess basick has low delivery in terms of lyrics
innovator did very well imo i think the song tablo wrote for him was really good so i enjoyed it !! i didnt really give him much attention before seeing him live but props to this boy for sure
incredible was actually better than i thought, because he sounded better live than on tv. but his producers (tablo and jinusean) didn’t do a good job i guess because their song was just okay to me personally and other competitors had much more impactful stages
black nut pretty much spent first part of the performance with his lyrics from 100 but i think that was a smart choice bc he probably would have forgotten the lyrics on stages if he wrote a whole new song. san e and verbal jint went on stage with him and it was really great and the crowd seemed to love it so im proud of my boy i prayed that he would come out & slay and he did so :’))))
lil boi was hella dopeee like damn i didn’t understand why all the producers loved him so much bc i was like ??? yeah hes good but bewhy??? but damn that boy kills on stage live and his delivery is A+++ idk how that kinda voice and charisma can come out from such a tiny body LOL but yeah lil boi was the best in my opinion out of all the competitors
mino performed with zico and paloalto. he was good as always but the one thing i noticed was that his stage manner and performance really exceeds other competitors, it really drew me in because damn he seemed so confident and excited for the most part. their team mainly focused on performance more than “just rapping” so i don’t know how others saw it but i think it was pretty nice. i saw everyone up real close and mino just…. looks like how he does on tv and yeah i kept staring bc i was like whoa…. its a celebrity…… .. .
mnet didnt show us the results of $$$ for each contestant so even i have no idea who won, but personally i think mino, lil boi, blacknut, inno have the chance of winning. basick was really good but even he said that he made a lot of mistakes during stage so who knows?? but yeah it was p cool to see all the contestants and judges live but i peRSONALLY think it wasnt worth waiting for 6 hours in summer heat !!!!
+ black nUT FUCKING WORE THE SAME OUTFIT ON THE STAGE IM SO DONE WITH HIM but tbh im sure everyone expected it already hes gonna wear that damn outfit until the end of the show
