Dear editor, 
I’m writing to tell you about the discussion we’ve 
had about whether it is necessary to include a test 
of spoken English in the college extrance examination (CEE). 
40%students think it is necessary. Here are the 
reasons following: First of all, speaking is one 
of the most important skills of English. With the development of the modern society, it becomes more
 and more important to speak English smoothly. 
Secondly, including a test of spoken English in CEE 
will improve the ability of high school students 
greatly. Finally, it is reasonable to include a 
spoken English after several years of English study. However,60%students are against the idea. One of 
the reason is that the test on spoken English is
 full of subjective ,therefore, the results are 
might not just as it is in fact .Anther reason is 
that most students are weak at this field, so it 
is not suitable to include the test now. 
I agree to include a test of spoken English ,because English plays an important role in our future. 
Moreover, we can take some measures to improve the equitableness of the test.
