Vidic to miss only 2-3 weeks with knee injury
MANCHESTER, England (AP) - Nemanja Vidic will only miss two to three weeks with a knee injury, leaving Manchester United relieved he won't be missing the rest of the season.
Vidic fell awkwardly on his left knee during United's 2-0 victory at AS Roma in the Champions League quarterfinal game at the Stadio Olimpico on Tuesday and United feared it was a serious injury.
But the club, which is five points ahead in the Premier League title race and goes to Middlesbrough on Sunday, issued a statement saying there was no major damage to the knee and that the Serbia center back could return as early as the April 19 visit to Blackburn.
He will still miss the Middlesbrough game, Wednesday's Champions League return match with Roma and Arsenal's Premier League visit on April 13.
