Not from the beginning but I pitched it to Bleed based on the character resemblance between Mimi and Bloss.
Fact - Mimi was meant to be Bubbles' kid but it got nix'd. Old art may still exist of Human Mimi with a VERY different hairstyle, closer to that of Bubbles. My initial plan for Mimi was to have her be the forced offspring of Blossom and Him because of Him offering Blossom an ultimatum - become my trophy or watch everyone you love die. A desperate but effective maneuver from the guy who despite being 'Evilest of Evil' keeps getting the runaround by a trio of toddlers.
Blossom ultimately relents and would have justified it by simply stating that by doing what she did, lives were saved. And that's what a hero's role is all about. Means to an end.
Mimi was SUPPOSED to be a Zoner, not a Telepath. Zoner is a term I came up with to describe spacefolders: those who can teleport, create hammerspace mini-dimensions and generally fuck with spacetime. Raven, her role model, is both a Zoner and a Telepath, but it seems Bleed's gone with the easier of the two powers to explain. The Zoner thing can be seen in WhAM when Mimi pulls all those objects (including a BILLIARD BALL) out of her skirt.
Beyond that, my plans for Blossom were largely unfinished due to Bleed's ongoing obsession with Mimi instead of the plot at large. The whole 'Bad Ending of PPGD' thing was an oversight on my part - I didn't notice the Megaville sign til after the page went up. At any rate, there was meant to be NO Chi, NO Aku and certainly NO abundance of bathtime scenes back in those days. How times change.
So now I just sit back and wonder what could have been....

Allow me to delve into the reasoning. Him initially led an attack on the human world alongside other villainous figureheads around the time the PPG were graduating from high school. This attack left many, including Professor Utonium, dead. Him being the most evil of all evil naturally would be spearheading this. This is probably the same battle that killed Sensei Jack and made Aku retire as a result. Him's attack was to have been a final retribution for years of humiliation by the trio. The act of killing and tormenting to break the girls at the very least succeeded with Bubbles, who was psychologically fractured after the Professor's death. However, Blossom wanted to bring an end to the pain and destruction any way she could so she offered to make any deal with the devil that was necessary.
Him, being the utter bastard he is, saw his opportunity to destroy the legacy of the PPG in a whole new and barbaric way. He abducted Blossom (although she went sadly yet willingly) and she was returned a week or so later. No physical injuries but a lot of pain behind her eyes. Not long after, she was revealed to be pregnant. Him called off the attacks but left the doors between dimensions open (closing them was never part of the deal - Blossom had to be more specific, oops!) so occasionally demon hordes ventured through and besieged the world, ravaging less-prepared nations and turning Megaville not into just a national, but an international base of operations to combat the ongoing threat. Meanwhile, Blossom has her child. She names her Mimi.
Mimi's powers are another story, cos the way GT evolved since I left the project explained them in a different way although there's still a chance that, with the right direction on script, it could still unfold the same way. Nonetheless, Mimi grew up being loved and raised by her mother, stepfather Dexter and aunt Bubbles (when not in her fractured state) but Buttercup remained distant. I spoke of Mimi and Buttercup's relationship in an earlier post.
When Him returned for Mimi, as he no doubt always would, he wanted to strip her of her human half and essentially bestow upon her the birthright of being the Child of Purest Evil. Of course, any connection to the human side of her needed to be purged and cauterised. Mimi was exposed the the Ancient Evil (the red entity extracted from her in WHAM) and forced to slay her mother. In my original vision for this however, Blossom's fate is not what it appears and the whole act serves as not only a driving force for Mimi but a sign that the pure human side, the half of her that came from her treasured and beautiful mother, could still stand up to Him's tyranny and threaten his iron-clawed hold on all of creation still.
Call it a stupid thing if you want, but Him only ever cared about extending his reach and manipulating friend, foe and family alike. Only time will tell if that's how it plays out in GT right now. Chi is an unwarranted distraction but if I was handed the editorial and storywriting reigns once more, I could certainly incorporate Chi into an outcome that would see Him's empire in jeopardy, war with the Grim household brought closer and Mimi turned into the most absolute champion of a character you could ever hope for.
