Pocong是一种从坟墓中爬出来完成他在世上未尽事业的尸体。在印尼，死人从头顶到脚底全部被缠在一种叫做“Kafan”的白布中（印尼是个伊斯兰国家），脖子上也有。因为这种缠得很紧的白布，Pocong不能走，只能在他余下的生命（或者死命，哈哈）中到处跳。根据印尼传说，人死后灵魂在身体里会停留四十天。如果他身上的白布没有被解下来，他就会跳出坟墓警告人们松开白布。
（最后几句没太看懂，据我猜印尼风俗是用白布缠四十天后下葬，如果忘了解开，尸体就会以Pocong的形态提醒人们……等我再问问他确认一下）

Pocong在印尼电视节目和恐怖电影中很常见，虽然我必须承认这玩意儿很荒唐。我是说，他们只能到处跳，但连手和脚都用不了。他们能做的只是跳来跳去，要求人们解开他们身上的带子。他们不能施法术（原文：They cant do voodoo），不能把人勒死，甚至不能安静地走进你，因为他们在跳的时候发出一种“嗒嗒”的声音。Hell，这玩意看起来就像是个跳着的枕头。

很像僵尸对不对，所以我给他回信讲了讲中国僵尸的事情

不过不知为何，Pocong挺吓人的。也许吓人的不是Pocong这种鬼，而是“死亡”这种想法。Pocong浑身裹着Kafan，他们死了，然而他们曾经是活人。他们提醒人们死亡是实实在在的，而且会发生在每个人身上，死了之后就会被从头到脚裹上Kafan。Pocong是死亡最拟人化的表达，所以他们吓人。我记得我看过一个关于Pocong的电视节目，然后几个月没睡好。

A pocong is an Indonesian/Malaysian ghost that is said to be the soul of a dead person trapped in its shroud. Known in Indonesia/Malaysia as , the shroud is the prescribed length of cloth used in Muslim burials to wrap the body of the dead person. The dead body is covered in white fabric tied over the head, under the feet, and on the neck.
According to traditional beliefs, the soul of a dead person will stay on the http://earth for 40 days after the death. When the ties aren*t released after 40 days, the body is said to jump out from the grave to warn people that the soul need the bonds to be released. After the ties are released, the soul will leave the earth and never show up anymore. Because of the tie under the feet, the ghost can*t walk. This causes the pocong to hop.

Pocongs are very popular in television and horror movie, even though I have to admit that their condition is pretty... absurd. I mean, they jumped everywhere, and they can*t even use their leg or hand. All they can do are jumping and asking everyone to release their ties.That*s all. They can*t do vodoo, they can*t strangle you, they can*t walk silently behind you even if they want to because they made a duk duk cring sound when they jump. Hell, they even look like a jumping pillow.
But somehow Pocongs are terrifying. Probably it*s not the ghost itself, but the idea of being dead that scares you. They wear Kafan, they are dead, and they were once living people. They reminded people that death is real and someday will happen to everyone. And when they die they will be covered in a kafan, tied on their hand, leg, and neck. Pocong is the closest personification of death, and that*s why they are so terrifying. I remember watching an old TV show about Pocong and I can*t sleep alone for months after that.
