Co-Star Talks About the Latest Backstory 



"When the actor hanging from the wire fell on Yong Joon,

That is what TWSSG co star, Song Kwi Hyeon said. 

He plays an enemy in the drama 
but is a veteran actor who watches over Yonsama with heartfelt looks. 

On the evening of November 21, 
Mr Song granted our request for an interview 
at a Korean BBQ restaurant he operates in Seoul. 

"Some of the reporting made it sound like a major injury, but he is healthy. 
With his natural physical strength and emotional strength, 
he is continuing location filming. Everyone, please do not worry." 

The truth is that Mr Song was also close by 
when Yonsama injured his finger in late October. 

"At that time, I just stepped out for a moment to have some coffee,

Fighting scenes are really dangerous and require concentration."

On the TWSSG film set, injuries continue to occur to the cast. 
While CG are being used to bring realism to the screen,

Putting on the costume requires the assistance of the staff. 
The armor, accessories, hairpieces and makeup…
the preparation before filming takes so much time. 
What’s more, the summer season is awful (laughs)."

Mr Song talks as if it is a happy memory 
but long term location filming seems to be strenuous; 
more than anyone can imagine. 

"None of the staff or cast has abandoned this project up to now. 
This truth shows the value of this project. 

If it was any other drama, 
everyone would have abandoned the project by now. 

I believe that we were able to make it this far 
due to director Kim Jong Hak’s efforts.

This is my third project working with the director. 
He has a kind nature which draws people together 
and he is the one that supports this drama." 

As Mr Song praises the director, 
Yonsama also respects the director. 

"I heard that ‘he thinks of the director as his father.'

They have a relationship where they trust each other. 
They have a close relationship like a family 
and was heard to have said, ‘We want to create a wonderful project together.’"

Wounded all over his body, 
Yonsama trusts the director and has assimilated the role of Damdeok all along. 

"At the time of last year’s summer crank-in, 
Yong Joon had sunken cheeks. 
But as the days of filming progressed, 
whether the role of Damdeok became second nature to him, 
but he became very powerful. 
No matter what occasion arises, 
he will not spare any effort when it comes to being thorough 
in his efforts for a role. 

The drama deals with life, death, betrayal, despair and such various experiences 
that his acting also grew and changed.

of the seriousness of Yonsama’s injury.
