The place is popular, too, with literally bus loads of Chinese (1.5 million visitors a year of which we are told 60% are Koreans) going up and down, and filling some of the paths. This year the tourist numbers included three Aussies and a Kiwi, just keeping up our end of foreign representation… During our visit to the park, from 10am to 3pm we only saw three other white faces.

After the amazing visit to the valley, we take a rest in the hotel and Ky and I exercise in the gym. Again we are given a cup of hot water to drink while exercising. Crazy Chinese! I tip mine out and refill it with cool water. After another buffet dinner (more wedges!) we are again collected by Idira and the driver to be taken to a Tibetan show (¥180 each (A$33)). At the start we are guided on appropriate behavior during the show on large red LED screens. First in Mandarin, and then in English we are encouraged to “Turn off mobile phones or set to shock” and “Prohibit run over the chair”. Ok, got it.
